Once Upon A Syllable was created to provide speech, language and literacy practice for single and multisyllabic words. This hybrid activity is designed to accommodate both online and in-person sessions. The colored slides are ideal for online viewing, and the black line, ink-saving pages can be used as printed materials.
Word Cards: Divided into five color groups, each section represents 8 – 10-word targets for a total of 48 words. Each color group represents a specific syllable type of one to five-syllable words. The product progresses from single to multisyllabic words, and it can be be used to work on receptive and expressive vocabulary, intelligibility, phonological awareness, basic concepts, and overall receptive-expressive language. For a literacy extension, printed words are included for each image.
Eye Spy: In addition to the vocabulary and word cards, there is an “Eye Spy” activity page, and five black line pages, or “Drill Sheets” for drill practice. These pages offer additional opportunities for skills drills and language practice.
BINGO: Lastly, a BINGO game is included with a total of 30 vocabulary words of varying syllables.
